Turkish producer Incredible Science is a finalist in Killerwatts’s remix contest
Incredible Science brought third place to Turkey.
Killerwatts, the collaboration of Tristan and Avalon, announced the results of the remix competition for their track, called “We Are Psychedelic.” The third place was achieved by the Incredible Science project from Turkey. Congratulation, Okan!
You probably know him as Nivanoise. However, he continues his music career under the name Incredible Science. While listening to his winning remix, keep reading his interview below.
Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Okan. My education life was already quite short. After it came to an end, I was left alone with a huge world and potentially countless options waiting to exist. Whichever of these options I was, music was always there and a part of my life.
As much as possible, I embraced all music kind. I tried to understand the chemistry and intensity of each style. I think this led me to create unstable and inconsistent music. When I realized this, a light went on in my head, and that’s how Incredible Science was born.
Why did you change your stage name?
I made music for over 10 years under my previous name Nivanoise, but it was all experimental. I was looking for the sound with which I could best express myself. Somehow I didn’t manage to make the music that brought me inner satisfaction.
In this experimental process, I’ve worked on unrelated genres such as dubstep, house, techno, house, drum & bass, and psy-trance. As a result of all these experiments, I believe I’ve found what I was looking for.
Why did you participate in the Killerwatts remix contest?
I was excited when I saw the contest. Well… I think everyone involved in psy-trance was excited. So, I started working on it the same day. I slept and woke up for about two months with this project. Haha. Think about the situation of the others in the house.
Could you talk about your future plans?
I’ve met wonderful people along the way. With many of them, we started doing joint projects. I think I’ll stay with music for a while, then I plan to leave this dimension for good.
